This is one of the best beers I've ever had, and you can't buy it in any store (in Florida)...
Sinebrychoff Porter pours like motor oil and it's smooth, chocolatey (but not sweet), earthy, a perfect balance of acidity and bitterness. There's a a lot of malt, a hint of Shiitake mushroom, a faint trace of soy sauce flavor, a little prune plum. Taken individually, it doesn't sound like it would make an appetizing mix, but the flavor just sits on your tongue and keeps dancing all night.
This beer has the balance and throw-weight to drink with just about any food but tomato or light Asian. I've had it with barbecue, white pizza, smoked meats (fantastic!), and strong sharp cheeses.
My tastes track pretty closely with the Beer Advocate dark beer drinkers, and they rate this one better than any of the English porters, among the top 5 Baltic porters.
