I will use some of the tips in Single Effort to improve my chances of finding a date. I admire Joe Keller for sharing his experiences with other people. Raising two children alone while trying to meet and date women is not easy. I already do some of these things to meet women that Joe Keller suggests. I recently volunteered to interview and assist homeless people for a play that I am working on. He also suggests taking an adult education class. This would definitely help me to broaden my interest and meet single women. I just have to find the time to take a class. Keller suggests using soy candles in my house. They last longer, burn easier and smell great. This is a great way to create a romantic atmosphere in my house. I will definitely invest some money and buy some soy candles. Keller devotes an entire chapter on wine. I am not a wine drinker, but I think that any knowledge that compliments a meal is worthy of learning about. I love to eat fish and vegetables. I learned to pair these foods with a white wine like Chardonnay Keller's idea that every single man should be a Good Knight or a gentleman is something I really like. I use a wheelchair, so I can't hold open a door for a woman or pull out her chair. However, I can practice being respectful and appreciative to every woman I encounter. He explains the things that should go into a man's dating kit. These things include a breath freshener, a Colgate mini brush, condoms and a compliment. I always try to compliment a date on something besides her appearance. None of my dates have ever lead to anything sexual. This is valuable information to remember if my relationships ever become physical though. I love the positive tone of this book. I believe that I can find a special woman if I continue to make an effort.
