Baby Wipes

Cloth wipes are resuable wipes made in different materials such as Flannel, OBV (Organic Bamboo Velour), Terry, Sherpa and Velour. These are made to replace your regular wipes such as Huggies Wipes, Pamper Wipes, and any other store bought wipe.

Small Wonders Wipes

After deciding to use cloth diapers, I was thrilled when  a few mama's turned me onto cloth wipes. Gretchen from Small Wonder Wipes was highly recommended. She has many colors, and fabrics to choose from. Her sewing is skills are surberb, I have yet to have a wipe fall apart. Not only are her wipes soft for the little tushies, they are great for runny little noses, and at bathtime (washcloth). I ordered some of her wipes in the folowing fabrics, velour/velour, velour/sherpa, and sherpa sherpa wipes (I don't really care for flannel, it's all personal taste).

The first thing I was taught to look for in a cloth wipe is too make sure they are thick! How gross is it when your finger goes through the wipe and touches the poop! Yuck! I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me when I used store bought wipes. There have been stories where the cloth one's as well didn't pass this thickness test. Small Wonders Wipes are thick, and I have never had a poop problem, and they are easy to wash, they don't roll up after, and they have also kept their shape (no shrinkage). The colors haven't faded, and the fabrics have yet to pill. Using reusable wipes not only is better for your baby, but it saves the environment as well. I must not forget to tell you how much money you could save by using resuable wipes. Plus, look at all those chemicals you can't pronounce on the wipe packages, your baby's tushy is the most sensitive body part, and all those chemicals in the store bought wipes go right into their skin.

Wipes can be used wet or dry, it just depends on your preference. There are some moms who put their cloth wipes in the plastic wipe container, and then add in the wipe solution they have made or others have made (I also did a review on wipe solution). If the wipe is too wet, just give it a good squeeze and wella! The other moms like to have the wipe solution they have made or bought put into a squeeze bottle, foam bottle, or spray bottle. First they spray the baby's tushy, and then use the dry cloth to wipe up the poo or pee. Then they toss the cloth diaper and cloth wipe into the wet bag and zip. When they get home the prep the dipe, wipe and wet bag for the wash. That easy!
