Wiki

Sookie is a telepathic waitress in a small-town restaurant and the main protagonist of the series. Because of her ablility, she has difficulty forming lasting human relationships. Upon discovering that she can't read Bill's mind, she becomes involved in a love affair that turns the entire town against her. She also finds herself entering into a world of creatures and supernatural conflict that surpasses her worst nightmares. By the end of the first season, public opinion has shifted in her favor and her relationship with Bill is more widely accepted.

During the second season she travels with Bill and Jessica Hamby to Dallas to find Godric as a favour to Eric Northman. She infiltrates the Fellowship of the Sun with Isabel's human Hugo, but is captured when it is revealed that he has betrayed the vampires. She is nearly assaulted by Gabe but is rescued by Godric. She escapes with Bill, Godric and her brother Jason to Godric's nest before another member of the church sacrifices himself as a suicide bomber. She is tricked into drinking Eric's blood before she returns to Bon Temps. In Bon Temps she frees Tara from Maryann's grasp but Tara returns to Maryann, Sookie and Lafayette go to rescue her.
