I never thought in a million years I would want to see bats flying around, but that was before I actually witnessed the event. During the summer time here in Austin, around 8 PM when the sun is going down, thousands upon thousands of bats will come from the South Congress Bridge and fly across the sky. They come in waves. It is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Its almost like the do a dance for the audience. People crowd around the bridge to see, and I have also been on the lake below it to see as well. Restaurants around the area will have you seated outside just to watch the bats. Its a very "Austin" thing to do.
