Swiffer's good, but is it good for the earth?

We have all hardwood floors so you can imagine the dust bunny population. Swiffer dusting pads are great for those with hardwood floors in their homes or anyone whose house tends to have a lot of dust accumulation as you can use them by hand on any surface to lift dust up. It really does work like a magnet and attracts dust and small particulates and is great for allergy sufferers who, like me, have terrible dust allergies.  Having said that,  my only criticism is that they're not very "green". Since they are supposedly made of a petroleum-derived plastic, they're not very sustainable and just end up in our landfills. If you're looking for a more eco-friendly alternative, try Method's planet-friendly sweeper dusters which are made from corn and are compostable, or the Method O-Mop microfiber mop pads which are machine washable.

I ditto everything you said! I use this product as well and for all the same reasons. Next to my Method Daily Shower spray-- this is one of my favorite Method cleaners (and I use all of them). However, I need to purchase more reusable pads-- can you buy them individually I wonder? One is never enough.
