A Fun-filled Hunt even after the Reading is Done

This is one of several in the “Look Again” book series by the author. This means you get more for your money than just a nicely told tale. The book is both written and illustrated by Michael Garland and he packs a lot into his story.

It begins with a letter to the reader from Aunt Jeanne who is the aunt to the young boy through whose eyes we see the story. The letter is a sweet rhyme that tells what will be found in the following pages and suggests the reader pay close attention. Aunt Jeanne leaves Tommy a note to follow a bunny. Like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland he leads Tommy down a hole to a magical place filled with beautiful sights. No scary stuff here like in “Alice” just lots of lush artwork.

Throughout the story Tommy runs across additional notes in rhyme from Aunt Jeanne. She also can be found hiding in the pages of the book as well, no doubt looking after Tommy. The book features a cavalcade of white rabbits scurrying here and there and directing Tommy. The author even pays homage to the song “Easter Parade” with a two page spread of stylish Easter bonnets and then shows an assortment of fold parading down 5th Avenue.

But don’t close the book when you see the final Happy Easter. The last page gives you an variety of ideas for doing a search and find in the book including the many ways of saying Happy Easter in languages from around the world.

Each week I do interviews with published authors who share their experiences of getting published and give tips from what they’ve learned. This week's interview is with an expert blogger.  If you would like to learn more about writing, you can find them at... http://TheWriteChris.blogspot.com.
