The Power of Twelve has a very simple plot. A group of twelve spiritual beings from another planet try to prevent the spread of greed and destruction at the hands of an evil real estate developer named Arnold Wheeler. Wheeler is part of a group called The Illuminatti They are a group of 319 families that want to take over the world. Some of the characters are very well developed in the novel. Other characters, like the 319 families of the Illuminati are not even mentioned. Frankly, some of the characters in the novel are more interesting than the overall plot.
The characters who are explained in the novel makes this book worth reading. My favorite character is William the Pen. He has access to every printed book from every different culture. William also has access to a holographic device that reveals the past, present and future of every person in the universe.
There is another spiritual character called Harry the Hilarious. Harry inhabits the body of President George Bush to stop this evil mission He tells George silly dumb blonde jokes to gain his trust. I really enjoy the humor of Harry the Hilarious. I have never read a book with George Bush as a character before There is another character named Abigail. She develops an addiction for eating chocolate after entering the body of a human woman. There is another spiritual being named Lily who advocates peace and meditation. I love the unique qualities of these characters. I hope Gladstone explores these characters again in a different book.
The Power Of Twelve makes me think about how positive energy lead to peaceful outcomes. Negative energy can lead to evil and chaos. I absolutely agree with these beliefs by William Gladstone. He is a cultural anthropologist. I like the way he shares his views in this book. I will strive to promote peaceful results because of The Power of Twelve.
