A book by Margaret Mitchell published in 1936.
Do you have a dream in your life that you have always wanted to follow, but haven't? The bookThree Feet from Gold: Turn Your Obstacles into Opportunities! helped open my eyes to how close I could actually be to the dreams I held in my life, but hadn't acted upon. It might help you get to that point as well.
In the book, you follow the fictional character Greg, as he works through various problems in his life, even to the point where he loses almost everything he thought was so dear to him (his job, girlfriend, money), and eventually finds himself following his dreams. While many of the circumstances in the story seem unrealistic, I think the concepts behind the story are very true.
This book has helped me to stop and think more about what I want to do with my life, has helped keep me from wasting my time on things that will keep me from reaching for those dreams, and kept me in tune with how close I may be to reaching my goals. The book highlights the sacrifices that may need to be made to get to the final dream, but also shows that with those sacrifices (and risks) could ultimately result in great payoffs.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is considering making a major change in their life. It just might give you the final push you need to take the risk and do what you really want to do with your life.
