2011 was a year filled with very eclectic films...
We had movies about the end of the world...('Melancholia' and 'Take Shelter') travelling back in time...,('Midnight In Paris') homages to the early days of filmmaking,..('The Artist' 'Hugo') as well as movies about some of our favorite sports...baseball ('Moneyball) and wrestling (Win Win).
We found ourselves laughing hysterically at a comedy about girl bonding...('Bridesmaids') had our hearts touch by a few family films...conventional ones...('We Bought A Zoo' 'Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close') and a couple...anything but..('Tree Of Life' 'Hesher' 'We Need To Talk About Kevin')
There was even a wonderful film about illness and friendship ('50/50') and a lesson about screwing with Mother Nature ('Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes').
And of course we had the wonderful end to a series of films that we've all come to love 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Part 2'.
Oh and we musn't forget Michael Fassbender's wonderful portrayal of a sex addict in Steve McQueen's excellent 'Shame'.
All the films on our top ten list shared one thing...A very high Bagel Award...and they're ones, that we think...you should definitely not miss.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

I really liked your video. Your banter is often engaging and fun. I especially enjoyed how your lists affirm the picks that many pro and amateur critics have selected for their Top Ten Lists, while at the same times some of your picks were very individual (like 'Extremely Loud and Very Close,' 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' and 'Bridesmaids'.) I just saw 'Rise...' on Tuesday. 'Bridesmaids' was one of the few comedies I even saw, and I really liked it. I loved 'Hugo,' and I know that if I did have a list, I'd put 'Tree of Life' on my list. It's hard to imagine a film doing better. I wish I had seen enough films to do a list, but I really absorbed what you both have done (along with Chris Pandolfi). Yes, Happy New Year. Thanks for the thoughtful fun.
Love this review and John's harp playing is awesome! I haven't been able to watch as many of these as I would've liked, so I can't comment...yet. But, this is a great list for a Blockbuster reminder.
