Mirsad's book has plenty of good advice like differentiating between polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and the bad transfats. He advises readers not to skip meals and to drink plenty of water daily. Eating slower and chewing food carefully is another way to lose weight.
The book advocates reading product labels carefully for such things as transfats, sugar content and artificially- based food with many non-nutritive additives. Refined carbs like sugar, rice and white flour are out.
Psychologically, food should not be used as a reward. In addition, meals should be consumed earlier in the day and not after 8PM. Mirsad indicates that protein should be obtained from nuts, seeds and beans as in the Paleolithic Diet. In addition, the author advises us to eat yogurt and cottage cheese. Portion control is another important part of the diet which shouldn't be ignored.
Junk food should be removed from the diet along with alcohol, sugary drinks and unscheduled meals. Stevia is cited as a good non-caloric substitute for white sugar. Mirad is in favor of adding strength training to the regimen to assist in burning excess calories and toning the body.

This book is excellent as a supplement to an existing diet or weight maintenance regimen. The contents are well organized and the cost is modest.
