I love this new music from Jakob Dylan

  • Apr 7, 2010
I love this new album by Jakob Dylan. T Bone Brunette does a good job producing these songs and turning them into them into tracks on a record. This CD has a country folk song that is new Jakob. Jakob has a deep baritone voice. He sounds good vocally on the song "We Don't Live Here Any More". I think my favorite track is "Nothing But The Whole Wide World" though. It is such a hopeful song that makes me feel good. Jakob sings and strums effortlessly on this song. The musical arrangement on this song are beautiful. I love the horns playing on the tracks "Standing Eight Count" and the equally excellent "Lend A Hand". I love the song "Down On Our Own Shield" This song is a reminder that life is a struggle. It has a great beat. Jakob gets some assistance from Neko Case and Kelly Hogan on "Everybody's Hurting". I love the empathy of the lyrics of this song. "They've Trapped Us Boys" is a fun song. This is a song about friendship and sticking together in a mine. I love the guitar playing on this track. "Smile When You Call Me That" is a pretty romantic song. I like the steel pedal guitar playing on this tune. "Truth For A Truth" is a song about the search for honesty and justice. I love this new music from Jakob Dylan. Every song sounds unique.
