It seems like just about everyone is really having to do more with less so to speak and that includes most of us either cutting back on our hobbies or not being able to do them at all.  Guess what, you might be able to save a little for your yarn fix and here is how.  Before you read further I want to point out that depending on your lifestyle and of course where you live, you may not be able to stash away as much but keep in mind every little bit counts.

First take a look at where you are getting your breakfast.  Yes I am just as guilty as everyone else, I stop at my favorite coffee shop and grab a mooocha chaca lotta latte (I made up the name so it isn't a real coffee drink) plus while I am there why not grab that lovely "add to my behind" danish, approx total cost before I even get to the shop: Approx $5 - $8 now let's times that by 5 and some weeks by 6 = $30 - $48 YIKEES !!!!  Now before you say anything, I will not tell anyone to stop going there, but just think if you went there every other day, you would be able to save $15 - $24 per week and if you look at it on a monthly basis that would be $60 - $96  and if you would substitute a yogurt or piece of fruit and bring your coffee from home, which would probably cost you maybe about $1.5o per day.  You would certainly be doing a healthy thing for both your body and wallet.

Second, do you bring your lunch or go out every day ?  Again do the same exact thing as above.  Add up how much you are spending a week, then a month on your daily work lunch.  If you just ate out only 3 days a week instead of all 5 and sometimes 6 you would be able to save that money for YARN and PATTERNS.  I know it is very tempting and much easier to just eat out but trust me when I say you will eventually start feeling better cutting out a little bit of the sugar, remember I didn't say all of it...no one is that good.

Very good point! I'm lacking in the yarn skill department, so unfortunately saving money for yarn wouldn't do me much good. However, I'm a huge fan of bringing my lunch to work and cutting back on other expenses - not only does it save money but it's healthier too! And like you with yarn, I can always find a better place to spend my money :)
