This is excellent new music from Lucinda Williams. My favorite track is the title track "Blessed". This song is a reminder that blessings can come from unexpected sources The lyrics of this song is very moving.
"Buttercup" is a song about refusing to be an emotional crutch for someone. I love the electric guitar playing on this song. "Born To Be Loved" has a bluesy tone to it that I love. This song is very soothing.
Another moving song is "Soldier's Song".This is a song about the thoughts that go through a soldier's mind when they are at war. This song is also about the sacrifices a soldier makes for their loved ones."I Don't Know How You're Livin' is a song about all the little things a person does for the people they love.
"Seeing Black" is a song about the burdens of life can cause someone to take their own life. Elvis Costello lends his talents playing the guitar on this track. "Copenhagen" is an unusual song title. This song has nothing to do with the place, but it is pleasant to listen to.
"Convince Me" is another song I like. There is something about Lucinda's voice that is appealing here. This song is a reminder that everyone needs someone to lean on in life. "Ugly Truth is a song about how mistakes and memories can haunt a person if they do not deal with it properly.
"Sweet Love" and "Kiss Like Your Kiss" are beautiful love songs. The second disccontains the unplugged versions of these songs. They feature Lucinda playing the guitar. I enjoyed both versions of these new songs by Lucinda. This is excellent new music.
