eBay.com, managed by eBay, Inc, is an American online auction and shopping website that allows users to buy and sell goods or services to markets worldwide. The website was originally launched in 1995 as AuctionWeb in San Jose, CA by Pierre Omidyar, a French-born Iranian computer programmer.
In 1998, the company went public, and founder and presidents Omidyar and Jeffrey Skoll became instant billionaires. In 2002, the company purchased PayPal, which facilitated online payments, thus helping to streamline the online purchasing experience.
Today, eBay is one of the most popular websites in both site traffic and for the purchasing and selling of goods and services worldwide.
I've purchased a few things on ebay.com and out of all the experiences, have only had 2 bad ones. Once I bought a computer, which the seller completely lied about the os that was installed, ram, etc. (Finally resolved but I lost $60 in the deal). (Click image to enlarge) Once I ordered a software upgrade and the seller claimed "We're out of what you ordered so we sent you this instead" (Meanwhile they sold 8 more of what they were … more
