The Midas Touch (minus Cloverfield)

Let's forget that Cloverfield happened.  Let's just assume that he was drunk one night and thought it'd be a great idea to have Godzilla in NYC and record the whole thing with handycams.  Everyone is allowed one screwup in their lifetime.

JJ Abrams is a producer's equivalent to Midas.  Everything he touches turns to gold. 

Lost:  An amazing show that takes a completely unrealistic scenario (getting stuck on a remote island) and turning it into an even weirder scenario (time travel, Others, monsters, etc.)  The best part, it somehow makes sense.  "So that guy, Jacob, was living in the statue's foot, then John killed him, even though he's really dead."  See.. that sentence doesn't make the slightest of sense to non-Lost viewers.. but if you're a fan, you get me.

Fringe:  Another amazing show.. this time, about a mega corporation and scientific anomalies.  The show gets stranger and stranger in each episode.  Parallel universes, Spock, dead sons, Observers, etc.

Star Trek:  Lens flares, more Spock, and a beautifully created reimagination of an old mythology.  The best part is... Abrams made this storyline sorta fit into the old... but gave himself enough leeway to do whatever he wants!  Time travel:  the CTRL+ALT+DEL for storylines.

I have no idea how JJ is in real life.. but judging from his work.. the guy is completely weird.  I love it!

I didn't see Cloverfield, but the rest of his stuff is awesome. Nice Review.
