A filmmaker who panders to the audience and succeeds. The cinema of Wong Jing.

Wong Jing is one of the hardest working filmmakers out there today. I watched an interview he did recently and he said the secret to making a financially successful movie is to not please yourself but make a movie that will entertain the audience. Throughout his career Wong has produced and directed a lot of romantic comedies, action films, gambling and ghost movies. But his real success is the romantic comedy.
