During my jounier year at LMU I went as a guest to the lmu Senior banquet. It was an interesting experience to say the least, and overall I had a great time. The atmosphere was pretty crazy. Drunkenness was rampant, but it was all in good humor as the majority of students didn't have to drive. Since this is the last major event aside from graduation in senior year, most students went all out by renting limos, tuxes, and accessorizing with abandon.
The food was excellent, everyone was served a chicken and mashed potato dish which was very good. For the most part seating was not assigned so you could choose to sit with friends or mingle with new people. I could not find a group of my friends, so a friend and I sat with a group of students that we did not know. It was a great experience as we got to talk with a very cool group of people we would have not otherwise met.
The only down side of the evening was the price of drinks. The bartenders really charge a lot of money for very little alcohol and it is probably better to just bring a flask. I had a great time though as the evening was very well put together for the most part.
Ah yes, senior banquet....for me and my friends...we snuck in a entire bottle of sky vodka and drank it in the bathroom. It was the best time to dance and everyone was getting along! The best and mos memorable part was when Ft Lawton closed his speech with "XOXO Father Lawton", just like at graduation!
