Eggnog is a sweetened dairy-based beverage made with milk, cream, sugar, beaten eggs (which gives it a frothy texture), and flavoured with ground cinnamon and nutmeg; alcoholic versions also exist with the addition of various liquors, such as brandy, rum, whiskey and/or advocaat.

Eggnog is a popular drink throughout the United States, Canada and Luxembourg and is usually associated with winter celebrations such as Christmas and New Year. Commercially, non-alcoholic eggnog is available around Christmas time and during the winter.

A delicious holiday beverage

Until last night I was one of the only persons on the planet who hadn't tasted egg nog. I know, crazy isn't it! I was kind of turned off by the whole idea. I mean, it's a thick milky beverage and the word "egg" is involved?! Thanks but no thanks. Thick, Creamy, Nogg-y Goodness

My favorite part about egg nog (besides egg nog milkshakes) is the fact that it is so thick with creamy, eggy goodness that it coats everything it touches in sticky, fragrant sweetness. I loved it when I was a kid and when someone told me that it could be served with ALCOHOL you can bet I was at the front of the line with a bottle of E&J.
