Maria and Val are two of the nicest ladies you will ever meet and their world is all about beans - coffee beans. They come from a small community in Nicaragua where their father has a coffee plantation that grows some of the finest coffee beans I have ever put through a french press. Their business is not just about the end product but about the preservation of the environment where it is produced. The environment not only includes the flora and fauna of Nicaragua but the coffee growers, farm workers and the other members of their community 'back home'.

'Fair trade' can often be meaningless - this coffee is 'grower direct'. How great is it to inhale the aroma from a steaming mug knowing that the profits are being directed back to the community that provides this heavenly brew? Maria and Val also run a charity called Los Frutos del Café where $1 from every pound of coffee they sell goes to community projects in Nicaragua.

That sounds like a great place to get coffee beans. Do they sell online at all or just at the Cafe? It would probably work great with the Aerobie AeroPress, you should check it out, or do you have a french press of preference?
