Plats du Chef French Onion soup is a frozen French onion soup distributed by Canadian company Plats du Chef, and is available in four states in the U.S. through Trader Joe's, Costco, and Sam's Club.

I'm surprised that devora had such trouble with this soup - everyone in my family enjoys it - the best not-from-scratch onion soup I have had. The packaging looks a bit different up here in Canada than you describe - much more frozen broth. I should point out I know my French food - lived in Montreal for 20 years, and the best onion soup I've had was at a neighbourhood bistro (they put port wine in theirs)... and this one is great.

Plats du Chef French Onion Soup
Strolling through the freezer section of Trader Joe's a few months ago, I happened upon this Plats du Chef frozen French onion soup with a little green label that said "vegetarian" (in case you didn't know, French onion soup is traditionally made with beef stock).  Hmmm, I dig onions, cheese and soup, and I also just came out of being a vegetarian for 11 years, so this would be tasty AND friendly on my belly.  The pictures on the box made it look yummy enough, and a pack of two …
