I have tried a lot of the energy/snack/protein bars on the market and I think these are the best. There is a tension between the healthiness of food and the taste and I think this product strikes a good balance. There may be other bars that taste better, but have more sugar/fat and likewise there are healthier bars that taste disgusting.
The Harvest Whole Grain bars are delicious and they taste like real food as opposed to something processed. I appreciate the fact that the first ingredient is Whole Oats. I am a big proponent of oats because of their fiber content. They do contain fractionated palm kernel oil which sounds suspiciously like a partially hydrogenated oil (which I avoid), but the website states that there are no trans fats in the bar and it sounds like fractionated oil is not unhealthy like partially hydrogenated oil. Please correct me if my assumption in incorrect.
The bars come in several flavors but I recommend the Double Chocolate Crisp and the Toffee Chocolate Chip. I keep a supply in my office for afternoon snacking.
I would be interested in hearing about other healthy packaged snack foods that are easy to store in an office if anyone has suggestions. Thanks
