This place has a bowling alley in the basement and an ice skating rink in back. That alone puts it pretty much out in front of most other hotels when it comes to having fun stuff on the grounds.

We only spent one night here so I don't feel qualified to comment on everything, but here are some tips.

1. Call them to book it. We went online and found a rate of $315/night. Then we called them and they quoted us a rate of $275. Then after a little inquiring about any good deals that we might be able to partake in, they put me on hold... came back and gave us a rate of $119/night!!! OMG. Granted this was off season they had plenty of rooms, but what a difference. We were stoked to say the least.

2. Try to get a balcony room. There are only 4 or so rooms in the hotel that have balcony and we got one. It was a nice upgrade, but we didn't really have a chance to use it too much. Here's the view from our room overlooking the ice rink with the mountain in the background. It was room #363.

This hotel is short drive out of down town Ketchum but probably could be walked too for some exercise. I'll try it again for sure next time i find myself in Sun Valley. Here i am trying to pick up a spare. I didn't make it.

I like the idea of a bowling alley and ice skating ring in a resort. Cool! That's an awesome deal you got! Great idea, I'd definitely try that the next time I make a reservation!
