Nurse Chapel was too much the traditional love-sick female character to be all that worthy of inclusion in the series. She uttered an occasional fluttery line about problems and McCoy had to firmly tell her what to do. Her character would have been more appropriate if she had at least once told McCoy off or stood up to him about his hounding of Spock.
