A Gripping and thrilling set.

Pros: Sutherland and a great supporting cast.

Cons: Starts a bit slower than past seasons.

The Bottom Line: The best just keeps getting better in this fine collection.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.

This gripping collection is by far the best collection released to date.
The show follows a day in the life of counter terrorist specialist Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland), who once again finds himself fighting to stave of a catastrophe of epic proportions. This time, Jack and his co-workers at the Counter Terrorist Unit, (CTU), have to contend with associates of an imprisoned drug czar who are threatening to release a devastating biological weapon should their leader not be released.

Since Jack is the one who brought the drug czar in, he sets into motion a series of events that will cause the day to become 24 hours of non stop danger, action, and suspense in keeping with the shows formula. Once again, the series is done in real time format with one hour of the show equaling one hour of time on the show.
Of course it would not be 24 without all manner of plot twists and surprises, as well as villians you love to hate, most notably Sherry Palmer, (Penny Johnson Jerald), and Nina Myers (Sarah Clarke), who return to add menace to an already bad day for Jack and company.

The acting of the show is first rate as Sutherland excels as he blends the danger and compassion of his character as well as his determination to complete his mission at all costs, despite the risks. The fine supporting work by Reiko Aylesworth, Carlos Bernard and Dennis Haysbert as President David Palmer round out a solid group of supporting talent that drives the show and keeps you riveted to the ever unfolding story.

Season 3 starts slower than the other two seasons, but just when you are ready to write it off as good but not as good as the previous two, the show switches into high gear with situations that are so tense and dramatic they surpass anything done previously. The Season 3 set is filled with non-stop action, and a never ending array of surprises and plot twists. 24 Season 3 will keep you guessing and entertained to the very end proving once again that 24 is simply the best hour on television anywhere.
