Adam -- A romantic and realistic look at Asperger's
In this "romantic comedy,"Adam is the story of a young man (Hugh Dancy) with Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism. He meets, befriends and eventually begins a romantic relationship with his lovely neighbor, played by Rose Byrne.      As the mother of a child with high-functioning autism, I am always interested in films that tackle the subject of this medical epidemic. Adam is a quirky movie, but not Will Ferrel quirky. Adam is funny, but not Adam Sandler funny. Adam is a romance, but not Jennifer Aniston type romance. Adam is a drama, but not...ok, you get the idea.      Nor is Adam necessarily an "art film". It does not sacrifice story in exchange for symbols. Conversely, it's much too ambivalent about target audience to be a hollywood film.      So what is Adam? A damn good movie. Simple as that.   …

Life is hard enough falling in love with a normal person. Well, this one makes it even harder. I prefer life to be simpler however.
