A Quick Tip by rbuchanan

Abel Ferrara wasn't satisfied by making obtuse crime dramas, so he decided to try his hand at horror. The result is incalculably pretentious and totally insubstantial. One brief, incredible performance by Christopher Walken doesn't redeem this plodding disaster any more than Leni Riefenstahl's films excused NSDAP atrocities.

Addiction - of the mind and spirit

Pros: Outstanding acting and production Cons: some scenes a little gross The Bottom Line: It will taunt you and titillate you, scare you and make you wonder Released in 1995, this movie is done entirely in black and white to give it that creepy feeling it so richly deserves. It's not that great of a movie and the ending is absolutely sickening, but the intervening scenes were titillating. I'll recommend it, but not highly. … more
