I first saw this when I was in high school circa 2000. At the time I was very much interested in living in New York City after having visited four times. I also had a nostalgia for 1980's fashion and extravagance. This movie is all the best of 80's opulence. Do not watch this movie if you have a weak stomach or are sensitive to violence, because there is plenty of gore and violence in it. I instantly decided that I would never watch the film, because it looked like a stupid slasher flick. Then, a few months ago, I saw Christian Bale in "Batman Begins" and thought he was fantastic. I looked up "American Psycho" on the IMDb and it was rated pretty high. So I thought, what the hey, I'll give it a try. I'm mighty glad that I did. "American … more
