That evil Amityville house is back in this creepy prequel.

Amityville II: The Possession is the prequel to The Amityville Horror.  The producers of this film decided to adapt the book Murder in Amityville instead of the official sequel Amityville Horror Part Two,  One thing that this film is noted for is the incest subplot. I guess they needed something to keep the audience awake because the film isn't that good.  The film stars Burt Young, Rutanya Alda, James Olson and Diane Franklin.

Let's recap shall we? Amityville II takes place before the fun events that transpired in the first film. A highly dysfunctional family moves into THE HOUSE and slowly succumb to the evil inside. A good priest tries to help out the family but he fails. When the son goes bonkers, sleeps with sis and murders the entire family the good priest driven by guilt tries to have the Church authorize an exorcism of the house.  When they refuse his request he decides to take matters into his own hands and confronts THE HOUSE armed with only a bible and holy water. Who will win in this classic battle of Good versus Evil?

Believe it or not this movie is actually much more interesting than it's predecessor (not by much mind you).  But the creepy incest plot and the overacting ruins what could have been an interesting film.
