The Seven Samurai in space!

Battle Beyond the Stars is a cheesy tongue-in-cheek remake of the Seven Samurai. Instead of taking place in a dusty small Japanese Village, this film takes place deep in space. An evil alien named Sador (John Saxon) is threatening a small planet with death and violence. The frightened inhabitants seek the help of mercenaries who'll drive away the invaders. One young dude and his girl (Richard Thomas and Darlene Fluegal) seek the help of a motley crew of outcasts and odd fellows (George Peppard, Robert Vaughn, Sybil Danning). Will they be enough to crush the evil Sador? How will this peaceful planet be able to stave off an invasion? To find out you'll just have to watch BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS!!

A fun film that doesn't pretend to be something it's not (cough*STAR WARS*cough). Just a sappy movie with funny dialog and a lot of action and strange looking aliens.
