Battle for the Planet of the Apes was the final film of the "Planet of the Apes" series. Every film after the first film has suffered from a smaller budget (despite the fact that the films actually turned a nice profit). The movie takes place years after the rise of the apes lead by Caesar (Roddy Mc Dowall) that was beginning to occur in CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Years later, Caesar is trying to keep the peace between human and ape and wants the peaceful harmony to continue. But there is a power struggle between the simians. The gorilla leader General Aldo (Claude Akins) want to take control and enslave the humans whilst the chimpanzees want to live in peace with the humans.

Meanwhile the mutated human survivors who live in the forbidden city have learned of the apes and view their recent visit as a precursor to an all out invasion. Many of them still want revenge for what happened to them years before. Can the apes and humans continue to live in peace or will dissension destroy everything that Caesar and his followers have created? Will the events that occurred in PLANET OF THE APES come to fruition or has the time line been changed forever? To find out what happens, you'll have to watch the final chapter to the PLANET OF THE APES film series.

Followed by a not-so-memorable t.v. series.
