Take two male figure skaters, throw in a preposterous storyline, and you've gotBlades of Glory, a surprisingly funny film that almost makes you forgive Will Ferrell for his back-to-back 2005 clunkersKicking & ScreamingandBewitched. This time … see full wiki

How is it that a slapstick Will Ferrell comedy about figure skating is more relevant in 2010 than it was in 2007 when it was released?  The screenwriter must have been psychic! I completely wrote this movie off when it first came out as another silly (even stupid) Ferrell flick since I was never really a fan of him.  This movie also tries to capitalize on the cult popularity of Jon Heder after the success of the loser comedy Napoleon Dynamite.  Ferrell portrays a macho …

As the story opens, sexy, conceited Chaz (Will Ferrell) and sweet, shy Jimmy (Jon Heder) have just tied for a gold medal in men's figure skating. They get into a brawl, however, and are both banned from ever participating in the sport again. A few years later, they learn of a technicality that would allow them to enter together as a couple in pairs' skating and, despite hating each other, they start practicing their routine for the next big competition, which includes a very dangerous move.      …

When arch rivals Chazz Michael Michaels (Ferrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) get themselves thrown out of the ice skating competitive arena, they wind up with really sucky jobs that they totally hate, until one day, a helpful stalker points out a technicality that may allow them to get back in the game.     This does not go over well with the current champions Fairchild and Stranz van Waldenberg (Amy Poehler and Will Arnett) who decide not to leave things to luck, skill and …

Ridiculously bad Will Ferrell project that is like a very long and bad Saturday Night Live skit! Very disappointing especially after Ferrell's Ron Burgandy, Ricky Bobby and Stranger Than Fiction performances. The movie is totally devoid of laughs and moronic, almost from the opening scene.

Will Ferrell and Jon Heder combine forces to pull off a very funny comedy about ice skating in "Blades of Glory." Sure, they essentially play themselves, but they are an excellent duo on the screen. Ferrell plays Chazz Michael Michaels, a "lone wolf" bad boy who has taken the ice skating world by storm. Heder is the loveable orphan turned skating phenom, Jimmy McElroy. After a brief character introduction of Jimmy, the film wastes no time in putting the leads at each other's throats. After a disastrous …

Even doing a comedy, a movie about figure skating would have to have the perfect choreography and glossy scenes. `Blades of Glory' does just that even as a fun and frolicking movie that both pokes fun and pays homage to a graceful sport. If not you wouldn't have the ample cameos from Scott Hamilton, Peggy Fleming, Brian Botano, Nancy Kerrigan, et al. who authenticate this loopy glide through skating. Just like the rest of us, they like to lighten up and have a few laughs.    The …
