One of Nickelodeon's most popular characters, the inquisitive but silent pup from BLUE'S CLUES finally speaks in her own spinoff series BLUE'S ROOM. Transformed from an animated character to an adorably fuzzy puppet, Blue and her eccentric cast of playmates--including … see full wiki
This DVDs main episodes are of the show Blues Room, which is a spin-off from Blues Clues. This is a puppets style show with the main characters being Blue, a dog, and his brother Sprinkles. The show also features Joe, who took over as the host on Blues Clues in the later episodes of the series. In Blues Room, Blue discovers he can talk to viewers and instead of giving clue adventures as he does in Blues Clues he usually plays pretend in the episodes. The show still incorporates problem solving and other basic preschool concepts, but does so in a little bit more of a real life scenario than the Blues Clues show did. This particular DVD contains 2 Blues Room episodes, as well as 2 Blues Clues episodes (Joe is the host in both).
The first Blues Room episode is called Knights of the Snacktable. In this episode Blue and Sprinkles are pretending to be Knights. They encourage the viewer to join in their quest to find the four dragons that have disappeared from King Joes castle. Along the way viewers are encourage to help them problem solve and find the four dragons, such as helping them through a maze to find the blue dragon. This is definitely one of the more fun episodes of Blues Room.
The second Blues Room episode is called Blues Farm Playdate. In this episode Old MacDonald (played by Joe) asks Blue and Sprinkles to take care of his farm animals while he is gone. They have a chart of tasks related to four animals, such as milking the cow and feeding a carrot to the horse. Along the way viewers are encouraged to help them complete the tasks, such as pointing out which chickens have eggs to collect.
The first Blues Clues episodes is called The Boat Float. In this episode Blue leaves clues for Joe about what kind of boat he wants to make. As Joe looks for Clues he helps other characters make, test, and fix their boats to make sure they float. At the end he encourages kids to now try and make their own boats that float.
The second Blues Clues episode is called The Scavenger Hunt. In this episode Blue sends Joe on a Scavenger Hunt to find certain items along with the normal three clues. As he find the items he puts them together to make things that end up being useful when he finds out what the three clues mean.
Overall this DVD has good episode of Blues Room and Blues Clues, however, if you are expecting an all Blues Room DVD and your kid(s) do not really like Blues Clues than this DVD is only half worthwhile. For kids that like both shows this is a good choice, as it offers some variety by having the two somewhat different shows. The DVD is also a little disappointing in that the only special feature it has is a very short Sneak Peak at the Wonder Pets (another Nick Jr. show).
