Braindead: Slapstick Gore + Horror Comedy

"I kickass for the Lord!"

If you watched the clip above, you are no doubt already sold on Braindead.  Unfortunately, while this is the best part of the film, it only happens halfway through, and one of the best characters in zombie-comedy horror history is quickly dispatched.

You might be thinking to yourself: Wow, that is a lot of blood and gore!  Trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Before I sat down to watch Braindead on Fearnet, my friend told me that he has never seen anything like this movie.  Being a B-horror fan junkie like myself, my interest was piqued, but I was still skeptical.

Let's get right to the point: Braindead is the most gruesome, gory, bload-soaked, slapstick-violent romp I have ever seen.  Here are the highlights of the film:

  1. An kung-fu ass-kicking priest
  2. A zombie-baby
  3. A fat, rowdy, obnoxious womanizer who has a propensity for getting hit in the testicles
  4. Zombies having sex
  5. Talking intestines

There are plenty more but I don't want to ruin the film.  The blood and gore is purposely over-the-top (to say the least), which is part of the movie's charm and charisma.  If you cannot handle the ridiculousness within the first half hour, I suggest you turn it off, because it only gets more out of control.  It features some outrageously clever dismemberment and grotesque splatter and death scenes, all of which build up to a climatic "you have got to be kidding me!" ending.

If you love horror-comedy, slapstick violence, zombies, and kung-fu priests, (and who doesn't?) then you must see this film on FEARnet immediately!
