I grew up watching the Care Bears and at age 20 I still love watching the Care Bear episodes every Saturday on CBS. Of course, when I saw this new video in the stores I had to buy it. I was even more enticed into buying it because it came with a cute little Oopsy Bear figurine. The movie has great quality animation just like the newer episodes of Care Bears.
The main plot of the movie is about Oopsy Bear trying to not mess everything up. It begins with Oopsy Bear doing a big oopsy and ruining the amusement park that was supposed to open the next day. The other Care Bears send him away on a somewhat pointless task to keep him out of the way while they try to fix the park. In the movie Oopsy ends up getting involved with an evil guy that wants to steal the Care Bears' belly symbols. He unknowingly helps him do it creating another oopsy. In the end, though, one of his oopsy's turns out to be very helpful. Thus this movie shows how everyone makes mistakes, but it does not have to be the end of the world. The ending with the Care Bears realizing they do not need their belly symbols to care or be who they are helps to show that it is what is on the inside that really counts.
One con of this movie is that it lacks special features. It is especially disappointing since it does have a Special Feature selection on the main menu. Unfortunately, the only thing in the Special Feature section is a music video of "We Are the Care Bears" and it is not even all that interesting.
