Chris has long been a Britney fan and supporter, well before she fell off the deep end. In this video, he pours out his heart in an attempt to get the media off her back and give her some space to recover. His sincere concern and passion for her well-being is admirable. You can't help but feel guilty for having a voyeuristic interest in her suffering. The medium and the message combine to create a well-deserved slap on the face.
This video was ground breaking in that it was one of the first to be picked up and run by mainstream media. Power to the people. Chris' anti-media rant became news itself and, hence, required coverage by the very outlets he was attacking. He successfully used the new media to exploit and subvert the old media and, in so doing, empowered the voice of the common man against the bastion of corporate media. How much longer will the established media be able to continue to mold and manipulate public opinion? I smell something double-plus good in the air.
Chris' triumph, however, has also catapulted himself into the same arena of celebrity and scrutiny in which Britney met her demise. Hopefully, he will not fall prey to the same forces and temptations.

I thought he was kidding at first. Sometimes I still do. He should convert all that energy into a Brit-brit impersonation if you ask me.
I was slightly irritated watching this, but then when my dad actually agreed with him (that people should stop harassing Britney), it changed my opinions just a little. But you're right! This clip paved the way for the internet as a major contributor to different media featured on TV.
But through it all (and I don't condone or approve of many of his tactics!), he does have something to say. My review here is a little tongue in cheek, but the bottom line is we have a sick obsession with celebrity in our culture and I like Chris' take on it (even if it is from "within"). I also like the empowerment of the web in granting new opportunities for influence and communication that this particular video represents.
