Clean round the bend

This movie begins with a promising start
With a guy who cleans up after crimes of the heart
And shootings and stabbings, and suicides too
He's someone who'll come in and clean up the goo
(Something that most people just won't want to do)

You may think that he's chosen a horrible job
But you'll call him if someone knocks off Uncle Bob
And the blood and the brains make a terrible splatter
Are YOU going to pick up the specks of gray matter?
(Not unless you've gone as mad as a hatter)

Our intrepid cleaner, he once was a cop
But surrendered his badge and he picked up a mop
And it's easy to see from his working demeanor
That his new occupation felt oh so much cleaner
(Though the hours are long and his wallet is leaner)

One day an assignment required his skill
To freshen a living room after a kill
He scrubbed and he polished and being the best
There wasn't a trace for forensics to test
(This one was a set-up, if you hadn't guessed)

He'd never have noticed the set-up you see
If not for a mix-up with that front door key
He set about trying to investigate
But soon it appeared that it might be too late
(Which left him no choice but to recriminate)

Though Harris & Jackson are good in their roles
It's hard not to notice the plot's gaping holes
But never-the-less, you should give it a try
It's not a bad way for the time to pass by
(Except for you experts who watch CSI)
