OK, but didn't even come close to doing justice to the books. I was disappointed.

This movie was awful. There was basically no plot and it was extremely boring. I never red the book so maybe that's better...

I am a big fan of Kinsella's "Shopaholic" books, so I was hoping that this film would bring some of that humor and the sheer audacity of the characters to the big screen. And while I enjoyed the performances of Isla Fisher as Becky Bloomwood and Hugh Dancy as her boss/love-interest, as usual, the translation to film left out some of what made these books fabulous.       For one thing, taking snippets from each book and trying to position everything into …

Then you'll hate this movie.    I've read neither of the books on which these movies are based, so that is NOT factored into my review.    My initial draw to this movie was due to the fact that I thought it MIGHT be a bit like Devil Wears Prada...a comedic insight to a NY fashion focused life.    It was anything but.    The acting was generally horrid, whatever elements of the plot that could have been funny fell totally …

A sweet, pleasant, funny movie that has hints of Bridget Jones's Diary (Collector's Edition). This movie is actually a lot better than I expected. Isla Fisher is just about perfect in the role of an addicted shopper. The chemistry with Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy) her boss is solid.     The movie follows Rebecca (Isla Fisher) through her shopping problems, money problems, and romance problems. No its not a movie about problems, that's just the pretext. Rebecca, although an addicted …

I almost didn’t watch this movie. One of my friends detested it and I trust her judgment and consider her tastes and mine to be pretty similar. However, she has read the book and loved it while I have not read any of the Kinsella novels. I’m writing my review from cluelessness over how the story played out in the book and without comparison between book and film. I loved this movie. Aside from a handful of a-words, several oh God’s, I believe an s-word and a scene of a couple in …

I'm glad a somebody made a chick flick out of shopping. Shopping has probably caused more tensions in relationships than anything (other than in-laws perhaps). This movie highlights some of those tensions in a funny way. Guys will probably recognize a lot of Isla Fisher in their girlfriends, while gals can probably at least their shopping sprees aren't quite so bad. Definitely a fun date movie.
