The critics have not been very kind toCrank: High Voltage. But what do they know? Here’s what this movie has going for it: gratuitous nudity, mindless violence, constant profanity, and a ridiculous storyline. Add to that stereotypes … see full wiki
This will be the shortest movie review I've ever written, this is without question one of the worst films I've seen in a very long time. Crank (Widescreen Edition) was not great, it was reasonably passable as a crazy wild story that made some level of sense. This mess, lost me within 30 minutes. No I could not stomach any more torture. Jason Statham, one of my all time favorite actors - Transporter, yes. He is just plain outstanding on the screen. But in this mess, oh no.
The movie opens with him falling through the air where Crank left off (he's been falling for 3 years, the time between films). He smashes a car. A van pulls up and grabs him away. The news flash, reports of a man falling out of the sky, smashing a car, but there's no body so there must not be a death, this just in, another man proven to not have fallen out of the sky. Chev gets taken to some surgery place where they pull out his heart, he's awake the whole time, and some nasty guy flicks ashes and spit into the chest cavity. They put in a mechanical heart, and golly lee gee Opie, Chev has 1 day to get his heart back because the batteries keep dying on him.
The moment that I decided to turn this garbage off, there was about 10 minutes of fighting in a strip club. It was just too painful to watch the rotten stunts, and the bad acting.
I am so sorry I even started this film. Crank was bad enough, there was no reason to make a second one.
