Oh yes! I saw the trailer and it sure looked intriguing. However, I know Burton does not have the best record for adapting material created by other folks. But I am watching the movie!
Yes, I am. Depp has proven to be an extremely versatile actor with the ability express appropriate personality quirks.

Definitely. Being a Tim Burton fan, I'm wired to look forward to any movie of his. Full disclosure: I have not seen a single episode of the original series. Having said that, I do know that the movie is much more of a comedy. So long as the film is actually funny, I have no problem with that. I'm not one of those people that gets upset when a source material is heavily altered for film adaptations.
Absolutely yes!! Depp is an actor who is never afraid to play a role - serious, bizarre, comical, it makes no difference to him; this is what makes him tick and this is why he is such a brilliant actor. I admit there have been some Depp movies I didn't like at all, but his performance was brilliant in itself regardless. He is an actor who has never been afraid to be different. I believe he is the perfect choice to play Collins as he will put a bit of himself into the role to make it unique.
Nope. He's a good actor, better than most. If he wants a reputation as an actor, he needs to do more serious stuff. Many more movies like this, or pirates, etc, and he'll wind up permanently as just another a Hollywood tabloid star. Would be a waste of a fine talent. But maybe he needs the money. Still, I like that he sticks with Burton even if many of Burton's movies don't -- just my opinion -- don't add up to much.
