Given its dismal box office take and a critical consensus around 40% positive, I wouldn't bet the rent money that there will be a sequel. In fact, after "Night of Dark Shadows," and now this one, I believe the final stake has been driven thru the heart of the franchise. At least on the big screen. If, however, somehow none of that matters to be powers that be, and a sequel is greenlit, Burton and Depp would most likely be following up on their own loose threads, rather than adapting anything from any previous DS incarnation. With Angelique out of the way, Barnabas and Vicky are now a blissfully happy vampire couple. Roger and Julia would probably return, seeking revenge and bringing reinforcements with them, maybe in the form of Reverend Trask, vampire hunter (this time, a black guy with an afro). Of course, there will be more 1970's lampooning gags.
