**1/2 out of ****      Rob Reiner's "Flipped" understands a thing or two about teen life. The film consistently switches from the "female" point of view to the "male" point of view; which definitely makes the film a whole lot more thoughtful than most films of its type. Unlike most teen dramas, "Flipped" does not revolve around ironic humor or the crass in-jokes of the other children that surround the main characters. Instead, "Flipped" …

Disappointing
Juli fell in love with Bryce when his family moved in across the street; they were both in the second grade and for the next six years, much to his chagrin, she chased him. Bryce thought Juli was a bit of an odd duck and he spent all of his time trying to avoid her until one day, in the eighth grade, he stopped running.      I loe Rob Reiner's classic coming-of-age film, "Stand By Me," so I expected this movie to be similarly engaging, if not memorable. Rob Reiner's "Flipped," based on the novel by Wendelin Van Draanen, is an all-around likeable film, a sweet, nostalgic, and reliable coming of age story about first loves and family dramas. It could even be described as a romantic comedy, even if the leads are really too young to know anything about romance. Reiner, Once Again, Delivers an Arrow to the Heart
Flipped is just old-fashioned, flat-out, feel-good entertainment. Flashback to the fifties as the new girl next door, Juli (Madeline) falls head-over-heals in love with Bryce (McAuliffe), a boy too young boy to be infatuated.
