Number 8 in theHalloweenline maintains connections to John Carpenter's original.Resurrectionpicks up the thread ofHalloween: H2O, with poor Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) now in a psychiatric hospital and determined to shut down homicidal Michael Myers once and for all. After this prologue, the story shifts to the old Myers house, where a TV reality show has enticed six teenagers to spend a single night in the spooky home. Needless to say, things are spoiled when Michael barges in: "Isodid not sign up for this," sighs the young heroine, when the bloodletting begins. The mayhem is being broadcast live on the Internet, which makes the film a bit likeRear Windowwith Instant Messaging. The interesting premise is routinely handled, but that's enough to make this one of the better sequels in the series. Maybe they finally finished off Michael in this one, wink wink.--Robert Horton

Amazing or Awful…it is a question of perception

I remember seeing this movie when it first came out oh so many moons ago. My friend was (and is) a Halloween fanatic and wanted to see this flick. I figured I was game and said I would go see it with him. Now when I watched the movie back 2002, god has it been 10 years already, I did not think to highly of this film. A Quick Tip by FM_ALEX

Now this is far from a classic and I would not put it at the top of a best of list or anything, still with the brain off it is fun. Plus it is a "Halloween" film and one of the later ones at that so why any one would expect a classic is beyond me. With that said still I loved the idea and found the performances fun for the most part. Plus any time I get to seeMichael kill off some people I am happy.

Interesting concept. Bad movie plagued by reshoots and those unhappy test audiences.

Halloween: Resurrection (2002) was directed by Rick Rosenthal (Bad Boys) who also helmed the second film in the series. Yet, he suffered the same fate as Part Two. He was a victim of re-shoots and re-editing. The producers were not satisfied with the final product so they ordered him to heavily re-shoot most of the film. I've watched quite a few slasher flicks in my day. I've never been a huge fan of them, but the "Halloween" movies always seemed to be a step up from the rest. From the title, one would think that HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION deals with the resurrection of Michael Myers whom was supposedly beheaded in HALLOWEEN H20.
