Let me put this out there first: it isn't that I really wanted to like this movie, it's that I really thought I was going to like it.       The trailer was hilarious and hey, Jason Siegel + Paul Rudd with a little bit of Rashida Jones on the side = a good movie, from how the trailer made it look. Every actor in this movie I have enjoyed immsensely in their other works, so it felt like a formula for success. Again, the trailer did a good job of leaving me wanting to see the movie.   …

I don't usually watch comedies, I particularly don't really care for them. I guess it's because I can't find one that's smart, has good acting and actually has good jokes. This film had all that and some more thrown in there for extra measures.          I Love You, Man was funny, charming, lighthearted and had a great sense of brotherly love. This movie was great for me because my friends are my bros and this was a cool movie for me to watch and think of all the stuff …

I saw this movie not knowing any of the actors or really anything about this movie.  I liked it a lot!  It starts out with Peter, a realtor trying to sell Lou Ferrigno's house, asking his girlfriend Zooey to marry him.  She says yes and they start planning the wedding.      Peter is very friendly with Zooey's friends and they start asking Zooey why Peter has no male friends.  They say that is important to a relationship because when he is out with the guys …

This is a very funny movie, yeah its a bit of a guy movie, well maybe a lot guy movie, some of the humor is very crude. The good news, its not mean funny, the laughs are good natured. Jason Segel, seems to be getting better and better in films.     Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd, The 40-Year-Old Virgin (Unrated Widescreen Edition), Knocked Up (Unrated Widescreen Edition), The OH in Ohio, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Unrated Widescreen Edition)), is engaged to Zoe (Rashida Jones, The …

Platonic/friendship love between men is something that's almost never fully explored in modern media. There are exceptions, and more so lately ("Superbad", "Knocked Up" and the like), but this is, without a doubt, the best I've seen on the topic in ages.    Paul Rudd plays a man about to get married to the love of his life (Rashida Jones, and it's great to see her getting work outside "The Office" and the rather dull "Parks and Recreation"). She starts to comment on how odd that …

This movie hovers comfortably somewhere between romantic comedy (if that can be said of a bromance) and gross-out guy movie.    When girly-man Peter (Paul Rudd) realizes he has no one to fill the role of Best Man at his wedding, he goes in search of a best friend. After a series of misses (including an accidental gay date and some projectile vomiting),  he meets Sydney (Jason Segal)- a real guy's guy.     There are the typical male-bonding scenes, mishaps …

"I Love You, Man"    "Man-dates"    Amos Lassen    "I Love You, Man" is a very smart comedy starring Paul Rudd (as Peter Klaven) and Jason Segel (as Sydney Fife). It's all about relationships between men. When Peter realizes that all of his friends are women, he decides to go on a journey to find male friends. Besides, he is getting married and in need of groomsmen.   Peter goes on a series of "man-dates" and the movie becomes …

I am a huge Paul Rudd fan, so I was excited to see the movie.    But, alas, my fear (and main pet peeve with the movie machine) came true...all of the good scenes are provided by the trailer, which they over-promoted as only Hollywood can.    All of the funny supporting cast had limited screen time...I need more Jane Curtain like I need more cowbell.    Plus, more Sanberg and Simmons would bump my ranking up.    I …
