I honestly had no idea what to expect from this movie. Frankly I thought it was great. It takes a crazy concept - a British shoe factory dedicated to making kinky red boots for transvestites - and makes it both heartwarming and funny. It manages to combine the best of both the Indie and Hollywood worlds - professional production quality and great acting (this is no cheap BBC production), but also a strong plot - and one that isn't as predictable as the usual Hollywood fare. KINKY BOOTS has a lot of positive things going for it- a cast that is committed, a pace that is fluid, the presence of some fun song and dance sequences, and a lot of sight gags and moments of introspection and awakening.
