Glamorous ad executive Laura Hunt (Gene Tierney) has just been murdered and Detective Mark McPherson (Dana Andrews) is on the case. I picked up "Laura" for two reasons. The first was because I'm a huge fan of "Twin Peaks", and I've heard that the film inspired it. (After watching it, I can see that it did, in some ways) The second was because the premise sounded very interesting to me.     Dana Andrews is terrific as Detective Mark McPherson, the calm policeman who is investigating the death of Laura Hunt (the wonderful Gene Tierney).
