Pros: A little eerie and a little bizarre

Ryan Jacobs lives all by herself in daddy's house. Daddy died a long time ago, but Ryan doesn't want anyone to know. She continues to pay the bills, keep the house up and go on with her life - just like daddy taught her.

The neighbors snoop around but Ryan insists daddy is out of town and they go on their merry way. She has her eye on boy next door, Mario, fantasizing about their life together. Lurking in the background is Frank Hallett, an older wiser dude that has a little longing for Ryan.

Finally, one neighbor - just a tad bit too nosy - visits Ryan. Ryan gets a little peeved and shoves the lady down the basement steps, gamely kicking the cellar door closed after her. Slapping her hands together, she turns and promptly forgets the incident. Hallett continues to creep around trying to figure out just what is going to and lusting after her 13 year old body (only Martin Sheen would be such a leech).

Love blooms between Ryan and Mario and you get a touching bedroom scene of the two and a nice shot of Ryan's body (ok, so I am a leech too .... lol) but nothing really develops there. Hallett in the meantime begins to threaten Ryan's tentative existence and she decides it is time to get rid of him.

Ryan offers him a nice little tea - laced of course with arsenic. Thinking he is clever, feeling she is trying off him, he switches cups with her. Ryan of course has not been living on her own without becoming slightly devious and Hallett ends up with the poison after all. A nice little twist. And another body down the cellar.

Kind of a quirky little tale. You almost believe she is justified in killing these people. After all, all she wanted was to live her life with no complications. They are the ones that interfered. Kind of a sweet little murderer.
