Lone Wolf McQuade is one of the first in a series of mainstream low budget fare to star America's golden boy Chuck Norris. After starring in a handful of low budget action films, Chuck got picked up off and on by various movie studios. He also has a working relationship with Cannon (right until their dying days). Chuck stars as a sheriff who has to deal with an evil jerk (David Carradine). The two also love the same woman (Barbara Carrera). To complicate things even further, his criminal empire is spreading throughout Chuck's jurisdiction. Will Mr. Norris take this interloper lying down? How will he deal with his hired goons? Does Chuck have any friends who'll stick by his side? To find out the answers to these questions you'll just have to watch LONE WOLF MCQUADE.
This is another one of those films that has a cool poster and video tape cover but it's not what it seems. They promise some earth shaking, violent showdown. All we get is a lot of explosions and people playing "patty-cake" with each other. Why did Chuck Norris become such a star during the eighties? Simple, he's a conservative Reganite who used America's xenophobic fears about THE EVIL EMPIRE and The "other" War to line his pockets and reel in his targeted audience.
