   Julia Roberts as Ms. Watson, an art history teacher at an all girls university (Wellesly) in the early 50's, gives a surprisingly good performance backed up by some of the top actresses in movies today! Ms. Watson tries to change her students ideals as to why a woman should go to college. Back then, no matter how well a woman excelled, she was expected to marry and be an ideal housewife. If nothing else Mona Lisa Smile sends a message to society women of the 1950's to make more of your lives. The story is cetered around Wesleyan, an female college which truly was a breeding ground for preppie upper society ladies to appear well educated and marry into a well to do family.
