A powerhouse of a film with an all-star cast, a great director, and a remarkable script that exposes the vulnerability, the despair, the desperation, and frailty of human beings. Definitely the best performances of both Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry.

The movie never lived up to its hype. I was unimpressed by the story and the acting was lukewarm--particularly by B.B. Thornton who can call in a redneck role from a cracked flip-phone. The movie looked mediocrity in the face and realized it was looking in a mirror.

I didn't. I didn't feel like anything had been left out or cheated in a way that the director's cut might fix.

Honestly, I saw this because of the buzz surrounding the boldness of the scenes between Berry and Thornton; then I was really taken completely in awe how the movie portrayed its theme of despair and the vulnerability of man. Nice QT!
